Los Angeles: Shopping on Larchmont Street

Being an LA newbie I'm still discovering all that it has to offer.  A few weeks ago, after admiring an amazing pair of Bed|Stu boots a friend of mine was rockin', she asked if I had been to Library on Larchmont Street in Hancock Park. In fact I hadn't... I went to see what all the buzz was all about.

Los Angeles: Long Beach Antique Market

Today I went to the Long Beach Antique Market for the first time.  It was so great!  There were sooo many  great vendors.  I got there about 6:45am and that was probably about the right time to arrive as the vendors were still setting up. I think they just recently started opening at 5:30.

Did someone say Girls Night Out??

Girls Night
I'm absolutely OBSESSED with the drapey collared jackets right now.  The style of the collar flatters everyone.  It elongates the neckline and broadens the shoulders and slims the waistline.  What more could a woman want?  The green and yellow of this color blocked wedge is to die for even if the price tag makes you gasp! And the Ted Baker bag.....please. Enough said.

Heart of a Woman. Heart of a Mother. Heart of Haiti

I was honored when the folks from Macy's Heart of Haiti contacted me to collaborate with them this year for Mothers Day. They asked me to share my heart on volunteerism.

January 12, 2010 all Americans were glued to their TV sets when the Breaking News of the devastating 7.0 earthquake shook the ground outside Haiti's capital city of Port-Au-Prince.  The devastation was insurmountable.  It was too much to to take in.  The images of injured children carrying injured children....where? Where were they taking them?  There was no where to go.  Hospitals were mere rubble. Their homes were gone.

The world responded immediately.  Humanitarian aid of medical, hygiene supplies, and food and water arrived within 24 hours.  Celebrities rallied friends, corporations and public officials for telethon after telethon to raise funds for more supplies to be sent to Haiti.  Churches and other organizations provided volunteer groups to travel to Port-Au-Prince to offer assistance anywhere they could.  The need was far and wide.

Life List: 40 by 40

Everyone has heard of the movie "Bucket List" with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman.  I ran across a list on another blog "30 by 30"....which was the first time I had seen a list put together in such a fashion.  So I immediately started to compile my list. And since I'm well past 30 I put together my "40 by 40".  Since then, I've come across MANY lists like this.  What I found was that I've actually done a good handful of things that many of these folks have on their lists.  I.E. Zip Lining through the Rainforest, Visiting The Louvre, Riding in a gondola in Venice, Visiting The Kremlin in Moscow.  I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunities that I have had in my 37 years.  I've felt a little stagnant in the last 10 years or so so I spent a little time to put together a list of things that I've always wanted to do or dreamed about doing.  Some things on the list will certainly challenge No. 6 since I have NO IDEA where this came from but I'm up for the challenge that the Good Lord has for me.  Shall we?  Let's do this....join me?
